Student Enrollment Task Force | Mississippi Charter School Authorizer Board

The Mississippi Charter School Authorizer Board (MCSAB) has formed a Student Enrollment Task Force (SETF) to examine the enrollment practices of Mississippi’s public charter schools. MCSAB will accept public comment at charterschoolssupport@mississippi.edu until October 31, 2020.

The goals of this task force are:

To determine and define best practices for student recruitment and enrollment
To determine and define best practices for monitoring student enrollment
To provide recommendations for meeting contractual and statutory obligations of underserved student enrollment population
To provide, if appropriate, recommendations for revisions to the MS Charter School Performance Framework
To provide, if appropriate, recommendations for revisions to the MS Charter School Contract
To provide, if appropriate, for consideration during the 2021 legislative session specific recommendations for amendment(s) to Mississippi Code Annotated § 37-28-23

The Task Force will begin meeting over the summer and present final recommendations to the Performance and Accountability Committee in November of 2020. The Performance and Accountability Committee will accept recommendations on behalf of the task force and determine next steps.
